Tempi Verbali in Inglese: Presente, Passato e Verbi Modali

1. Presente (Present Tenses)

1.1. Present Simple

Struttura: Soggetto + verbo (forma base) + complemento.

Negativa: Soggetto + don't / doesn't + verbo all'infinito + complemento.

Esempio: Giovanni doesn't wash the dishes every day.

1.2. Present Continuous (Progressive)

Questo tempo verbale è usato per esprimere azioni che si svolgono nel presente, nel momento stesso in cui si enuncia la frase.

Esempio: Giovanni is washing the dishes right now. (Giovanni sta lavando i piatti ora).

Negativa: Soggetto + am/is/are + not + verbo in -ing + complemento.

Esempio: John isn't washing the dishes at the moment.

Interrogativa: Am/Is/Are + soggetto + verbo in -ing + complemento?

2. Passato (Past Tenses)

2.1. Past Simple

Si utilizza per esprimere azioni che hanno avuto luogo nel passato, indipendentemente dal momento specifico in cui si sono verificate.

Esempio: John washed the dishes last night.

Negativa: Soggetto + didn't + verbo all'infinito + complemento.

Esempio: Giovanni didn't wash the dishes last night.

Interrogativa: Did + soggetto + verbo all'infinito + complemento?

Esempio: Did John wash the dishes last night?

2.2. Past Continuous (Progressive)

Esprime azioni che hanno avuto luogo nel passato in un momento particolare.

Esempio: John was washing the dishes at 8:00 last night.

Negativa: Soggetto + was/were + not + verbo in -ing + complemento.

Esempio: John was not washing the dishes at 8:00 last night.

Interrogativa: Was/Were + soggetto + verbo in -ing + complemento?

Esempio: Was John washing the dishes at 8:00 last night?

  • Must: dovere, obbligo

  • Need: bisogno, necessità
